Video transfer guide
How to send a large video file online
Share high-resolution footage, exports, and long recordings without squeezing them into an email attachment.
Upload files for free · Up to 20 GB · No account required.
The short answer
Video files grow quickly because resolution, frame rate, duration, and bitrate all add data. SendFile transfers the original file through a download link, so the recipient receives the file you selected rather than a messaging-app preview.
Keep the right export
Choose the finished video or source package you actually want the recipient to download. Compress only when a smaller copy is acceptable.
Upload with resume support
Select the video in SendFile and leave the tab open. Chunked uploads make a long transfer more tolerant of brief connection interruptions.
Protect and deliver
Pick the expiry, add an optional password, then share the generated link with the editor, client, or collaborator.

Should you compress the video first?
Compression can make a transfer faster, but it can also reduce image quality or remove editing information. For final review, a smaller export may be enough. For editing or archiving, send the original file or master export when possible.
A transfer can include the video together with subtitles, project notes, thumbnails, or a checksum. Keep the total at or below 20 GB.
Plan for a long upload
Large 4K and high-bitrate videos may take time even on a fast connection. Connect the device to power, avoid closing the browser tab, and pause bandwidth-heavy activity if the upload is unstable.
Do not move, rename, or edit the original file during the upload.
Share footage more safely
Use a password for unreleased work, client material, or videos shared through a broad team channel. Choose one day for a quick handoff or seven days when several people need time to download.
SendFile is a transfer service rather than a streaming host. Recipients download the original file and play it with software that supports its format and codec.
